It's Almost Over

Three more yoga classes to teach this week, then I'm back on a regular schedule.
Last weekend was fun, but a bit exhausting. We rode around Cades Cove, an 11 mile loop, on our bikes. Sat. mornings the loop is closed to traffic. We did see a bear off in the distance, a lot of turkeys and deer, and during our guided night walk, we saw bats and toads. Sat. afternoon we met up with some friends at their rafting co. along the Nantahala River in NC. We decided not to camp, but instead stayed in their little apartment in Cullowhee, NC. Sun. we had to go to Cherokee, NC for breakfast, at a pancake house, where else? We stopped in the casino to take a look and the man carded me. He said the light was hitting my face favorably and I looked like I could be under 21, that must be some funky lighting they have in that casino! Anyway, it was very smoky and depressing inside. A bunch of old geezers sitting around smoking and playing slot machines. I used the bathroom, then we left. No gambling for me. We did get to start on the Blue Ridge Parkway at the southern most entrance. We took it all the way up towards Weaverville, NC. I got almost a dozen stamps for my National Parks passport because we stopped at all the visitors centers that we came across in the Smokies and along the Parkway. In a few weeks we will take my Dad's Miata the rest of the way on the Parkway to Shenandoah National Park and meet up with my family and Ben's family along the way.
